Western Hunt

A great day was had by all at Treen on the 29th Dec.

The Logan Rock pub put on a lovely meet as always with a cracking stirrup cup and mince pies.

We then went on to have a great day the hounds working well and allot of good jumping country crossed.

RDA Christmas Extravaganza Print E-mail

Shaabrak and My Eclipse

Lucy, Shaabrak, Mel and Eclipse after their displays at Chiverton Riding Centre where the RDA held their Christmas Extravaganza.  The RDA put on a fantastic Christmas show, entertaining a huge crowd who came to support the worthy cause.

Lucy came from Devon to support the event and show off Shaabrak who showed his paces with a dressage display to music - clearly very popular with the crowd.  Lucy comes hot off the heels from the "new" Express Eventing competition held at The Millenium Stadium, Cardiff.  The partnership earned themselves 2nd place - winning £50,000!!

Lucy very kindly fitted her crowd "puller" display at Chiverton between flying out the same evening to Brazil for a well-earned 2 week holiday.

The day was rounded off with a very entertaining pantomine on horse-back by the Four Burrow Pony Club.

Sarita Perkins organised a hugely successful and very enjoyable day - getting us all into the festive mood!  Her support, generosity and time for the RDA is outstanding.

Sand School complete! Print E-mail

Finally finished!

30th May the sand school was finally completed.

What a relief!

It has been a very busy few months with it being stud season and trying to fit in the County shows.

Hence why i have not been good at up-dating my blog recently!

Thanks to Mark it is now complete - without his help it would never have been finished I'm sure. Although he did not let me get away with not helping! 30 tons of rubber to spread with a rake was not my idea of fun!

It has taken me a few weeks to realise it is all complete and no more hassle sorting materials out to be done. This is the first week I have had a chance to appreciate having a school and I have to say it is great.

My recent purchase of this set of showjumps has also been huge help.

No excuses now!!

Lanhydrock Horse Trials Print E-mail

Wow! I was left completely gob smacked yesterday when Jago won the pre novice at lanhydrock. I have to say a huge thank you to Mel for teaching me and Jago and for giving me the confidence to enter the bigger classes although that confidence was tested earlier in the week. I have to admit I thought I was asking too big a question for our second horse trials of the season after I walked the xc,it was definitely mine and jago's biggest track! Honestly I was a bit disappointed with my dressage but it must of looked better than it felt! We then had one of only five clears in the showjumping (I had Mel shouting at me in my head !!) Then the xc.....jago was fantastic! We went clear again and although we both got a bit tired near the end we only had 3.6 time penalties not bad for a non TB!! I was overjoyed to have a double clear and I hoped to take home a rosette. I had not had time to check my dressage score until I had finished so my first shock was to see Jago and I had a score of 25.2 again a personal best! My second was to see that we had won I could of caught flies my jaw dropped that far!!! I was so proud of my boy and extremley grateful to Mel.
